Noncatastrophic Exits

Leave difficult conversations calmly so you can both return to dialogue.

Non-catastrophic exits refer to the ability to leave a conflict conversation, physical space, or difficult emotional exchange in a way that is calm, respectful, and non-punishing. It contrasts with storming out or shutting down, and allows for both partners to regulate and return to dialogue.
